dabbledoomusic is an online programme for primary schools, developed over ten years of working with teachers, parents and children across Ireland.
We provide schools and teachers with the resources, support and training they need to make sure music is fun and engaging for their students. We deliver our unique interactive resources, weekly lessons and planning content directly to your classroom using existing classroom technology and simple classroom instruments.
Accessible music for everyone
Our lessons are designed to be accessible and engaging for teachers and students alike. Our resources can adapt to you and your class and have been developed to support children with additional learning needs. We want to ensure that all children in Ireland have access to quality arts education.
Full planning content and weekly lessons
Our full program for schools includes 35 weekly lessons per class with yearly and monthly planning for each. Each class follows a similar structure to help with full school music plans and clear progression for children year on year.
Weekly lessons will guide you through the curriculum strands and musical concepts from exploring sounds to song singing.
Songs
Our songs are selected and delivered by leading educators and musicians to give teachers and children the inspiration and confidence to sing.
Singing is made easy through a series of warm-up videos from Julie Shanley, a Kodaly trained music teacher and children's choir expert. Songs are performed by Susan Hurley, performer and music therapist, and a range of our favourite Irish artists including Zoe Conway, Donal Lunny and Radie Peat.
Videos and interactive resources
Our unique system of music notation has been specially designed for the primary classroom and will ensure you cover all aspects of the primary curriculum with ease.
Listening, performing and composing have never been so accessible in the classroom.
Parents' content
We believe that music is at its most powerful when shared between people. Our parents’ content is specially tailored to help families enjoy all the benefits of music at home. We have special radio shows, family activities and resources that teachers and schools can share with the wider school community.
